MEDIA RELEASE
Introducing Kind Schools — a new registered Australian charity committed to helping teachers and schools to create safer and happier learning environments.
Using evidence-backed, curriculum-based programs to elevate kindness, Kind Schools aims to reduce bullying and improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
Combatting the devastating impact of bullying has been a mission for many Australians over a period of decades. Kind Schools takes a fresh approach to anti-bullying tactics by aiming to educate and harness the proven power of kindness.
Kind Schools has developed a Model of Kindness that identifies nine teachable qualities of kindness. This model informs all of the Kind Schools resources and connects to the Australian curriculum to make taking action accessible for educators. A Kindness Survey providing student voice data to help inform your school’s wellbeing approaches will also be offered to schools in early 2023.
“We invite you to share your knowledge, embrace your curiosity and join us on our quest to support kindness practices in our global school communities.“
– Dr. Sophie Lea, Director Kind Schools
